Thank you

2019 saw the first “Telford Big Sleep Out” brought into existence by Stay-Telford and Maninplace, with over 120 people sleeping outside all night and around 300 people attending the mini music festival. We can safely say we were blown away with the success of the event.

Thanks to the many participants and supporting businesses and organisations, over £12,000 was raised to support the vital work of Stay and Maninplace, ensuring much needed resources were in place during the winter months for those rough sleeping or facing homelessness.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part.

It’s all change for 2020

Our hope for 2020 was a bigger and louder event, but the outbreak of Coronavirus has brought our plans to a halt.

But the impact of Covid-19 on the homeless community has been substantial, and now more than ever, is a time for us to continue raising awareness of homelessness and raising funds to support the important work being done across the borough of Telford & Wrekin.

So, this Autumn, we are back with #TBSO 2020 “Home Edition”.

What’s different?

You guessed it, anyone sleeping out this year will be doing so at home.

We want you to be part of #TBSO 2020 “Home Edition” by building your cardboard shelter in your back garden, taking your sleeping bag or any other bedding you need to keep warm, and sleeping out under the stars in the comfort of your own outdoor space.

You won’t be left alone though, because we will be hosting live videos via Facebook which will include a virtual disco courtesy of Astro Entertainment.

The popular “Cardboard Palace” competition will be back giving you a chance to win a trophy, along with other prizes that could be won.

More details about live feeds and completions will be coming soon.

As well as our live feeds, we will be asking you, our amazing supporters, to send in video clips and photo’s of yourselves with your cardboard homes from your gardens. They will be shared along with our evening’s content to make one big virtual fundraising event.

But, this year, we need even more help from our fantastic supporters.

Coronvrius has meant we can’t put on a big event this year, which could potentially reduce the amount of donations we receive in support of the work we need to carry out in support of the homeless community.

To try and reduce the impact of Covid-19 on the joint fundraising efforts by Stay-Telford and Maninplace, we are asking all participants to consider giving and entry donation of £10 after you have registered. This is not compulsory, but every additional penny will help.

Details of how to gift your entry donation can be found on the registration page.

Can you help?

We would like to stream some clips of people telling us why they are taking part and supporting our cause. If this is something you would like to help us with, please contact us.

Are you a business owner or work for a company looking to support local charities? We would like to be able to offer some great raffle prizes during the evening, if your business can help with this, please drop us a message and we will get in touch with you as soon as we can. Contact us here.
